How to play Bombeco
Bombeco is a maze-bomb game for up to four players. You drop bombs to clear a path, grab items and take out your opponents. The last one standing wins the round, and whoever wins the agreed number of rounds takes the match.
The goal
Each round takes place in a closed arena full of bricks, with four free starting corners. Everyone spawns at the same time. The round ends when one player is left alive, or when time runs out. If more than one is alive at the end, the result is a draw. A match is decided by one to five rounds won, as the room chooses.
Controls
| Move (phone) | The stick appears wherever your thumb touches, on the left half of the screen. It accepts eight directions. |
|---|---|
| Move (computer) | Arrow keys or the W, A, S and D keys. |
| Drop a bomb (phone) | Button in the right corner. One tap drops one bomb. |
| Drop a bomb (computer) | Space bar, Enter or the J key. |
How the bomb works
- The bomb explodes three seconds after it is dropped.
- The explosion goes out in a cross, up to the fire range. The default is two squares each way.
- Walls stop the fire. Bricks also stop the fire, but they are destroyed and may reveal an item.
- Fire lasts less than a second and kills anyone in it, including you.
- If fire hits another bomb, it explodes at once. That is the chain reaction, and it is the main source of unexpected eliminations.
- You start with one bomb. When one of them explodes, the bomb comes back to you.
Sudden death
In the last forty seconds of each round, a new wall drops every moment, in a spiral, from the outside in. The square about to close blinks first. The wall kills anyone standing on it, even if only part of the character is on the square. Sudden death exists to prevent stalled rounds: a moment always comes when everyone has to meet in the center.
Items
About a third of the bricks hide an item. The three basic ones increase your bombs, fire range and speed. There are also rare items: kick, shield, streak, full fire and skull. See the complete items guide.
