Bombeco arenas
There are ten arenas, in three sizes and four color themes. Whoever creates the room picks the arena or lets the game draw a different one every round.
Size changes the pace: in small arenas everyone meets quickly, in big ones there is time to grab items. Brick density changes how far the fire reaches and how many items show up.
| Classic | 15 × 11, charcoal theme, 70% bricks. The reference arena: lots of bricks, tight corridors and a match decided in the middle. Good for learning. |
|---|---|
| Open field | 15 × 11, garden theme, 55% bricks. Few bricks and lots of room. Fire crosses almost everything, and the kick is worth a lot. |
| Blocks | 15 × 11, temple theme, 65% bricks. Fixed obstacles in a regular pattern, creating predictable corridors and corners for ambushes. |
| Rooms | 15 × 11, temple theme, 60% bricks. The map is split into areas with narrow passages. Whoever controls a passage controls the room. |
| Ring | 15 × 11, charcoal theme, 65% bricks. A central ring around a closed core. There are always two routes to reach your opponent. |
| Fortress | 15 × 11, temple theme, 60% bricks. Corners protected by walls and a more open center. It starts slow and heats up in the middle. |
| Crossroads | 15 × 11, garden theme, 65% bricks. Two free lanes form a cross in the middle: whoever controls the crossing controls the round. |
| Duel | 11 × 9, ice theme, 70% bricks. The smallest arena. Everyone meets in seconds, and it is best for quick two-player matches. |
| Big arena | 19 × 13, garden theme, 70% bricks. The biggest, with plenty of room for items. Long rounds, ideal for four players. |
| Glacier | 19 × 13, ice theme, 50% bricks. Big and open, with few bricks. Fire travels long distances and sudden death hits hard. |
How to choose
- To learn: Classic. It has few surprises and shows the rules well.
- For quick matches: Duel, with two or three people.
- For the whole group: Big arena or Glacier.
- To mix it up: the "random every round" option keeps the group from memorizing a map.
Maps do not change the rules, only the terrain. The same ideas from the strategies apply to all of them, and items show up the same way.
